Capturing a Conductor {Roseville Professional Photographer}

Most of what a professional photographer is hired to shoot falls into known categories: weddings, children, senior portraits, family portraits, and the like. Sometimes, though, you’ll receive a call needing you to capture something different, out of the ordinary, unique. That’s when your skill and experience are brought to the test. Can you translate your art from the known to the unknown?

When Daniel Canosa asked that I take his portrait, I thought to myself, sure, I’ve done that before. Little did I know that it would mean joining him on stage, as part of his grand orchestra, hiding between timpani and drum, clicking through my zoom lens to capture him conducting. This is one of the hidden benefits of taking on professional photography; you are invited to capture much more than you had ever imagined. I can still feel the vibrations running through my body during the dramatic moments of his symphonic performance. That’s the closest I’ll ever get to joining a symphony on stage!
