Roseville photographers wishes friends and clients a happy 2012. May the new year be as happy as we look in the pictures above and below, as we welcome clock struck 12. May the photographers guild capture as many special moments as they can, and use them to inspire their friends and families.
I have a few professional photography aims for this year: One is to shoot one portrait per week. This is easier said than done, though I never regret practicing portrait and wedding photography in retrospect. After all, a real shoot is not the time to practice, and the more the photographer shows up experienced to his paid shoot, the better.
Another photography aim for 2012 is to improve photography gear and stay up to date with new trends. I will travel to the February WPPI wedding and portrait photographers gathering in Las Vegas (which proved very instructive and inspiring last year). It is useful for networking, for keeping current with leading photographers and newly released photography gear.
As of now, my travel plans will be restricted to the states (although I welcome surprises). I will probably travel throughout California for shoots and conferences, and might visit the East Coast in spring or summer for pleasure.
Here’s something new for 2012. I’ve agreed to play roles in three theatre plays this year! That is hugely time-consuming, but even more rewarding. And by the way, I launched a Shakespeare Summary site that presents fun, visual summaries which acquaint people with Shakespeare by removing the imaginary difficulties his language poses. I will add more summaries to the site as time goes by.
All the world is, indeed, a stage, as Shakespeare said, and we are actors in it. May we perform our roles as kindly and professionally as possible in the forthcoming year, learn and teach as much as we can, so that we improve the stage, cast and audience around us.
